The Board of Directors: Founding Call for Inquiry

The Mission

“The Paranormal Science Initiative shall be a New Hampshire–based nonprofit organization dedicated to scientific and educational research on anomalous phenomena and related environmental factors.”

The Paranormal Science Initiative (PSI) was founded on a singular premise: Anomalous phenomena deserve better science. For too long, the study of the unexplained has been relegated to the fringes, trapped between blind belief and reflexive dismissal. PSI is a New Hampshire-based research organization dedicated to bridging this gap. We apply rigorous, repeatable, and transparent scientific protocols to the “edge” of human experience.

We are not looking for fans of the paranormal; we are looking for architects of a new investigative standard.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking five visionary individuals to serve as our Founding Board of Directors. This is a rare opportunity to shape the governance, ethical framework, and research trajectory of an organization at the absolute frontier of consciousness and physical science.

The Role of the Founding Board

As a director, you will not just oversee; you will build. In our first year, the board will focus on:

  • Organizational Architecture: Finalizing NH state registration and establishing non-profit bylaws that prioritize transparency and integrity.
  • Strategic Oversight: Defining the “High-Leverage” research projects that will define our first 24 months.
  • Scientific Integrity: Ensuring all PSI initiatives adhere to the highest standards of data collection and peer-level scrutiny.

Who We Seek

To meet New Hampshire legal requirements and our own internal standards for excellence, we are looking for professionals from diverse disciplines:

  • Scientific & Academic Research: Individuals comfortable with experimental design, data analysis, and the scientific method.
  • Legal & Governance: Professionals familiar with NH RSA 292 or general non-profit management to ensure our foundation is unshakeable.
  • Technical & Engineering: Experts who can help us develop or refine the hardware and software tools used in field investigations.
  • Strategic Communications: Visionaries who can articulate complex findings to the public without sacrificing scientific nuance.
  • Fundraising and Financial: Our vision requires a certain amount of fundraising to get going. We need people who can make that happen.

Commitment & Independent Oversight

In accordance with NH RSA 292:6-a, PSI is committed to independent governance. We seek a board of five voting members who are unrelated by blood or marriage, ensuring that our mission is guided by a diversity of thought and professional friction.

  • Meetings: Quarterly virtual sessions (1-2 hours).
  • Term: Initial one-year founding appointment.
  • Location: While we are NH-based, we welcome national expertise.

Join the Investigation

We are currently forming our board and early research team; some roles are exploratory while the nonprofit and IRB arrangements are finalized.

If you believe that the “unknown” is simply the “not yet measured,” we invite you to help us build the infrastructure to measure it.
